Direct Access courses

The Direct Access Scheme (DAS) allows riders aged twenty-one or over to take a test on a large motorcycle, allowing them upon passing the test to ride any motorcycle without restrictions.

You must complete CBT (which you can do as part of an intensive course), a motorcycle theory test and take a practical test on a motorcycle of at least 35 kW (46.6 b.h.p.). We use 500cc bikes, which are more than ample for this task.

The Direct Access courses that we run are two, three, four and five days in length, depending on the competency of the rider. The two and three-day courses are subject to a one-hour assessment lesson. The four and five-day courses would be spread out over a period of up to four weeks, to allow us time to get you through all of the various stages.

Our training courses are quite flexible in approach and we run training courses seven days a week. You can run your course over weekends to fit it in around work, but your last day (test day) would need to be on a weekday. Alternatively, book some time off and train with us during the week. To discuss your specific requirements give us a call.

If you do not have your own motorcycle, do not worry. We have a fleet of well-maintained bikes for hire, both 125cc and 500cc machines.

In preparation for the practical element of your course, we strongly advise you get and digest The Official DSA Guide to Riding - the essential skills which you can order here.

Our pass rate is second to none and most trainees pass their test first time with us. If in the event you do not pass first time, we operate a Guaranteed Pass Scheme on all intensive courses of three days or more in length. This means that if you do not pass for any reason (conditions apply), a day’s further training is free of charge. All you would need to pay for is the bike hire if you need one from us and the test fee.

If you are not sure why you should choose us, see what these successful students have to say about us here.
