A1 Licence Courses

Take your test on a small bike and get a restricted licence

The A1 Restricted licence is aimed mainly at those who want a full motorcycle licence, but do not intend riding anything bigger than a 125cc bike. It is also the only category of motorcycle licence, besides the moped licence, for those aged 17 – 19.

You must complete CBT, a motorcycle theory test and take a practical test. You can take CBT, further training and the practical test all as part of an intensive course. You would need to organise your own theory test, which you can do here.

Restricted Licence Courses

The Restricted Licence courses that we run are as follows:

This course is for very experienced riders who have already completed CBT and is subject to a one-hour assessment lesson to assess suitability.

The first day consists of teaching what is required of you for the tests with your Module 1 test in the afternoon. The second day will begin with more training and mock tests in the morning before taking your Module 2 test in the afternoon.

If you have not already done so, you would need to book and pass a motorcycle theory test. Further details on the theory test are to be found on the motorcycle theory test page of our website.

To help you prepare for the tests we conduct mock tests on you on our large off-road area for the Module 1 test and take you around the prospective test routes for the Module 2 test.

You do not need to worry about booking your practical tests as these are already pre-booked by us for you.

This course is suitable for a novice rider. Your first day will begin with CBT, where we would leave a gap of approximately two weeks before continuing with the rest of your course. This is just in case you should need further practise or to repeat your CBT. The final four days will improve your road-riding skills and handling of the motorcycle. On the fourth day, you will take your Module 1 test and on the final day, you will take your Module 2 test.

The A1 Restricted Licence

The Restricted licence allows you to ride up to a 125cc bike, carry passengers and take off your L-plates. You can take your test on either a manual or an automatic motorbike. If you take your test on a manual motorcycle, you can ride either manual motorcycles or automatics, but if you take your test on an automatic, you will be limited to automatics.

Our Training Courses

Our training courses are flexible in approach and we run training courses seven days a week. You can run your course over weekends to fit it in around work, but your last day (test day) would need to be on a weekday. Alternatively, book some time off and train with us during the week. To discuss your specific requirements give us a call.

If you do not have your own motorcycle, do not worry. We have a fleet of well-maintained bikes for hire, both automatic and manual.
