CBT Course: The CBT (Compulsory Basic Training) course is suitable for novice riders and must be completed before a learner moped or motorcycle rider is allowed to ride on the road with L-plates. It is a one-day course (08:45 – 17:30) that we run seven days a week. For more information please see the CBT page.

Assessment Lesson: The assessment lesson lasts for one hour and is suitable for someone who holds a valid CBT certificate and is an experienced rider. The cost is £25.00 which then gets offset against whatever course you subsequently book. You will need to have prior competency on the machine you want to be assessed on.

Motorcycle Theory Test: Before you can sit a motorcycle practical test, you have to pass a motorcycle theory test. This became compulsory for everyone in February 2001, regardless of whether you have a full car licence or not. The only exceptions to this rule are holders of full bike licences who want to upgrade within the same category (i.e. automatic to manual).

The motorcycle theory test is conducted at Driving Standards Agency test centres. You will need your UK driving licence number and a method of payment to book. The current cost is £31.00
